Next week: Screenshake!

EVERYBODY’S FREE (TO DISCOVER INDIE GAMES)
Belgium's only international indie game festival Screenshake avoids the commercial and technical focus of many other game expos. This cultural event welcomes everyone with a general cultural interest, an open heart and an open mind, not just hardcore gamers or developers.

Screenshake 2017 presents an opportunity for everyone to discover the artistic potential of the 21st century's most revolutionary and important medium. Exploring indie games has never been easier: to make the festival accessible to even more people, the festival has cut its ticket prices in half and is now also offering day passes.

EXPLORING THE EDGES OF GAMING CULTURE
In its fifth year, the festival continues to explore the outer edges of gaming culture, building bridges to other artistic disciplines. This is apparent in the line-up of its Saturday night party (think: less chiptunes, more weirdness) and in the Friday night performance of live game playthroughs with improvised live accompaniment of original music.

THINGS TO MAKE AND DO
The 2017 edition of Screenshake will take place February 10 -12 in Antwerp, Belgium. The event comes packed with a series of talks and workshops by a dozen international speakers, an art exhibition curated by Dutch avant-garde game collective Sokpop in collaboration with Japanese design icon Keita Takahashi, a late-night performance pairing live gameplay and live music, an explosive party, a Belgian developer showcase, and of course its trademark, installation-filled, interactive game expo.

Screenshake 2017 will take place once again at main festival site Het Bos in Antwerp with its separate talks location within walking distance. Keep up with Screenshake’s Facebook, Twitter and website for further updates and announcements.
