We played the Gray Dawn Demo!

Within two weeks Gray Dawn, a game by developer Interactive Stone, will release at June 7. Ferry played a demo of this religious first person game during Gamescom  last year and wrote a preview  about it.  And now it’s my turn to dive into the depths, the blood and the horror of Gray Dawn!

After the introduction, the game starts at Christmas Eve and you’ll hear the Christmas Carol. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, so for like five seconds I was happy. Because when I was walking around, I noticed a puppet in a chair and yes, his eyes were following me. I don’t know why exactly but puppets are scary as hell, especially when their eyes following you.

The player takes the role of father Markus Abraham, who is being suspected of murdering one of his altar boys, David. Father Abraham has set his mind on proving his innocence, but that is easier said than done. You have to travel to an eerie setting and solve puzzles, most of the time with a religious touch.

This demo offered me about ninety minutes of game play and it was over before I knew it. That’s when you know you’re playing something great, right? I was sitting on the tip of my chair all the time and if a game keeps me at the edge of my seat without using jump scares, but just being thrilling and disturbing, I think you’ve done an excellent job!

I can’t wait till the full release of Gray Dawn, which will be available at June 7 for PC at Steam!
