Our first look at Warhammer 40.000: Mechanicus!

Today is my lucky day because can access the preview build of strategy game Warhammer 40.000: Mechanicus by Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games. I’m a big fan of the genre and of Warhammer games, so I was very happy to have the opportunity to take a sneak peak!

The player take the role of Magos Dominus Faustinius and you will lead the expedition on the newly rediscovered Necron planet of Silva Tenebris. You have the control of the Mechanicus, the most technologically advanced armies in the Imperium.

While entering a mission, you’ll first see the map, so you can choose your route. In every chamber there can be an object or enemies. Some chambers will have an exclamation mark to indicate there is a point of interest, these are the chambers you don’t want to miss. With the objects it’s up to you to decide if you just want to examine it, or to destroy it, just to be sure. Some objects can harm you if you do destroy them, other can harm you if you doesn’t. Be smart and pay attention to details. Between missions make sure you check the stats, weapons, abilities of each character and select the best load out possible.

If there are enemies in the room you will enter the battle mode, where you can slay the enemies through turn based combat. You can attack them with regular attacks and weapons, or use the special ones. These specials cost so called Cognition points, which you can only collect during battle and just one per turn.

At this moment there are three missions available and with the full release, more missions will be added. The Warhammer setting is really awesome! I’m looking forward to see the full game, because this preview build promises a very decent challenge. I may say about myself, that I, Michael a.k.a. Magic Mike, is a seasoned player as it comes to strategy games and turn based combat, and Warhammer 40.000: Mechanicus becomes more difficult in a fast pace!

Warhammer 40.000: Mechanicus is scheduled to release at November 15, 2018 for PC. For more info, please visit the official websites of Bulwark Studios and Kasedo Games.
